What we reward

Prize, criteria and how to take part in the 2027 edition

  • The work that manufacturers of skis, snowboards, ski boots, footwear, apparel and winter outdoor equipment are doing to design, build and bring to market high-quality products: workmanship and materials, level of innovation, design in step with current trends, real functionality in the field and saleability in the shop.
  • From the 2027 edition safety joins in, with the ITAS Safety Award dedicated to helmets.
  • Participation is reserved for Prowinter 2027 exhibiting companies. Each brand may enter one product per category: a company representing several brands may submit one entry per category for each brand exhibited at Prowinter 2027.

    Outdoor segment - 5 categories

    1. Winter Active Footwear 
    2. Winter Expert Footwear 
    3. Winter Backpack (new) — capacity from 20 to 40 litres, models with an avalanche airbag system excluded 
    4. Second Layer (new) — fleece, synthetic, down and hybrids, shell garments excluded 
    5. Hiking Sunglasses (new) — sunglasses and not goggles, reference EN ISO 12312-1

      Cross-segment special prize

      • ITAS Safety Award — dedicated to helmets for skiing, snowboarding, ski mountaineering and mountaineering. Open to exhibiting companies of both segments, it is awarded to a single product by the two juries meeting in joint session.
      • Reference certifications: EN 1077 for skiing and snowboarding, EN 12492 for mountaineering, dual certification for ski mountaineering.
      • Ski and snowboard categories: Innovation 25% - Saleability 20% - Technologies 20% - Design 15% - Storytelling 10% - Environmental responsibility 10%
      • Outdoor categories: Innovation 22% - Saleability 17% - Technologies 16% - Design 15% - Functionality 15% - Environmental responsibility 10% - Storytelling 5%
      • The environmental responsibility form is optional: those who do not complete it compete normally in all the other criteria and forgo the environmental score only.

      Entries are submitted online, by completing the dedicated form (the link will be available on this page from 21 September). For each product you need:

      • the completed entry form
      • from three to five photographs of the product
      • the technical data sheet, indicating the recommended retail price
      • graphic sketches or design concepts, optional but recommended
      • the texts on innovation, strengths and design
      • the environmental responsibility form, optional.

      1. All entries undergo an eligibility check: it verifies that the product falls within the category in which it was entered and that the documentation is sufficient to evaluate it. It is not an assessment of merit. Outcomes are communicated by 3 November 2026, with five days to complete remediable cases.
      2. Products from the 2027/28 collection are admitted. Carry over products are admitted only if they have never been entered in a previous edition of the Award, in any category. Entries may be submitted in Italian or in English.
      3. Admitted products must be accompanied by a physical sample: the juries examine them one by one in the session of 2 December. The sample must arrive by Friday 27 November 2026, a final deadline, at this address: Lisa Marcon — Reception Fiera Bolzano, Piazza Fiera 1, 39100 Bolzano (BZ), Italy. Products excluded at the eligibility stage must not be shipped.
      4. Pre-series samples are admitted, provided they are fully representative and accompanied by the declaration of substantial conformity, to be completed on the dedicated form downloadable below.

      After submitting

      1. Submitted answers cannot be edited. If you need to change or add something, do not fill in the form again: it would create a second entry for the same product.
      2. Photos and videos you can add yourself, by opening again the upload link you used when entering, until 19 October 2026, 11 pm.
      3. For everything else — technical data sheet, declarations, corrections, withdrawal of an entry — write to prowinteraward@altracom.eu, stating company, product and category.

      You will have the option to do so for each product you submit, starting from 21 September 2026.
