Interpoma Congress 2026: two days of scientific insight into application technology and global market trends

interpoma press release

Fiera Bolzano will host Interpoma Congress on 26 and 27 November, further establishing its position as a leading platform for technical and scientific exchange in the international apple sector.

Interpoma Congress will be held during the 14th edition of Interpoma, the world’s only trade fair dedicated exclusively to the apple sector taking place from 25–27 November in Bolzano, Italy. The Congress is a leading forum for scientific and technical updates in the international apple industry.

The Congress is scheduled for the second and third days of the trade fair—Thursday, 26 and Friday, 27 November—and follows the path established in previous editions, with a programme heavily oriented towards specialised content, practical application goals, and a global analysis of a continuously evolving sector.

Following on from the themes of varietal research and orchard digitalisation explored in the previous edition, Interpoma Congress 2026 will focus on application technology and emerging international market trends. The conference will provide a holistic view of the sector, bringing together technological innovation, environmental sustainability, production models and market dynamics.

“Interpoma Congress is part of a continuous journey that has addressed the major transformations in apple growing over recent years, from genetics to digital technology”, states Walter Guerra, of the Laimburg Research Centre and Coordinator of the Congress.

“This year, we have chosen to concentrate on application technology, which is now central to translating innovation into practical applications, and to broaden our perspective to include a strategic region such as Latin America. The aim is to provide robust scientific content and a global vision to support the future decisions of industry professionals”.

The first day of the Congress, Thursday, 26 November, titled “New Approaches in Spraying Technology: Efficiency meets sustainability”, will be dedicated to application techniques, currently considered a strategic focal point for more efficient, precise and sustainable apple growing. Conference sessions will analyse their evolution, exploring the role of advanced spraying systems, sensors, drones and digital tools for apple tree protection in the field.

Alongside technology-focused content, the Congress will address broader industry themes already central to previous editions, such as the reduction of inputs, resource optimisation, and the contribution of application technologies to the sector's sustainability goals. The aim is to offer participants a comprehensive overview of currently available solutions and development prospects for the short and medium term.

On the second day, Friday, 27 November, titled “Regional Opportunities and Global Challenges: Latin America in Focus”, attention will shift to the international arena, featuring an in-depth look at Latin America—marking the first time this region has taken centre stage at the Congress. This part of the programme will cover production, technological and commercial perspectives, analysing the region's role in apple trade flows and its relationship with European and international markets.

Speakers from Brazil, Chile and Mexico join the programme line-up to examine how local market conditions and characteristics intersect with industry-wide challenges, including technological innovation, sustainability, competitiveness, logistics and import-export dynamics. This focus underscores the Congress's commitment to providing global and comparative insights into the apple industry.
