Prowinter Startup Village: Revolutionizing alpine tourism and mountain sports
Since its first edition in 2016, the Prowinter Startup Village has become an important meeting point in the heart of Italy’s only B2B trade show dedicated to operators from the snow, rental and ropeway industry. In 2018, Fiera Bolzano Exhibition Center is once again looking for the most inspiring idea for the sector’s future. Applications are open until 21 January 2018.
Startups from all over the world that offer services or products for the mountain tourism, the rental industry or mountain sports – including clothing, equipment and technology – can apply online for the third Prowinter Startup Village.
The ten best young entrepreneurs take part in the finals during Prowinter 2018 in Bolzano, scheduled from 10 to 12 April. The trade show provides the ideal setting for ambitious startups to successfully grow their network and change the industry for the better. Fiera Bolzano Exhibition Center collaborates with IDM Südtirol Alto Adige to give voice to innovation and to facilitate contacts and business relationships. The Startup Village is supported by Brennercom and Plank.
During the three trade show days, the finalists present their products and services to operators, potential customers and opinion leaders at their own desk inside the Startup Village. They also get the chance to attend talks with experts and visit the sector’s key players at their booth. On Tuesday, 10 April and Thursday, 12 April, the startups pitch their forward-looking ideas to a jury who will pick a “Winner of the Day” after each session. The prize for the winners is an exhibition stand at Prowinter 2019.
The two most innovative projects of last year’s Startup Village came both from Austria. Add-e got the Startup Award for designing the smallest and lightest retrofit kit that turns every bicycle into an e-bike. SK-X Sportvision GmbH convinced the jury with its patented RX-goggles that include optical lenses into a double-lens-system.
Prowinter is now looking for fledgling companies that want to seek the opportunity to present their new ideas for alpine tourism and mountain sports at the Startup Village 2018. The race is on.
