Michael Komiss’ integrated fruit farm in Bolzano

Michael Komiss runs a well-positioned fruit farm on the outskirts of Bolzano. In addition to several apple varieties grown according to the integrated production protocol, the direct sale of apple chips made from his own fruit (and marketed under the brand name "frutty") also characterizes this family-run business.

After this, we are going stop by another family-owned business: fruit auction EGMA and processing company FRUCTUS belong to one and the same family. Between August and October, over 30,000 tons of fruit are "processed" by nearly 300 producers at the auction site-which we are going to visit. Directly adjacent are the production departments of FRUCTUS, whose reputation in Europe is linked to the production of cooked and pasteurized apples and pears and frozen fruit.
