holzius stands for building with solid wood in its most natural form. Inspired by nature, the South Tyrolean company has developed a glue- and metal-free solid wood construction system that meets the highest building biology standards and features the technical requirements of modern construction. The holzius solid wood construction elements consist of several layers of solid wood planks arranged vertically in a row by means of tongue and groove. The individual layers are force-connected to each other by dovetail-shaped solid wood ridges. The single-material wood elements are settlement-free due to the vertical arrangement of the planks. The vertical tongue-and-groove connection results in their airtightness without the need for additional foils. At the same time, precisely dimensioned clearances enable the dimensional and form stability of the elements even in the event of changes in humidity. This construction method is mainly used in ecological solid wood construction, has the current certifications for fire resistance, heat conductivity, air permeability, sound insulation and earthquake behavior and is increasingly used in multi-storey building construction. Due to their single-material processing, holzius solid wood elements are completely recyclable.
