A country close to heaven

What would South Tyrol be without its mountains? A country without the Lago di Braies lake, without 33.6 million overnight stays per year, without world-famous brands such as Salewa, Technoalpin or Leitner Ropeways. Wine lovers would have to do without their favorite bottle of Gewürztraminer, the Italian winter sports federation would have to do without 10% of its Olympic medals and UNESCO would also be poorer by one world cultural heritage.
The South Tyrolean mountains are the driving force behind the country's core competencies: tourism, winter and mountain sports, agriculture and mobility. Civil protection, after centuries of experience with the forces of nature, has also become a model at the international level, with 82,975 emergency calls and over 2,500 mountain rescue missions per year.
Millions of years from now, our mountain giants will still be exactly where they are today, petrified and unyielding. But in economic terms, they move a lot. As a trade show center, we are doing our part: with Prowinter, the B2B days for the entire winter sports sector, and the trade show Civil Protect for the sector of civil protection.
