SMART MATERIALS & SMART Buildings
In the field of construction, materials have to be “smart” and innovative to satisfy demands: materials should increase energy efficiency, improve functionality and comfort, contribute to a small ecologic footprint and offer a reasonable price/value relationship.
Traditional materials and construction already obtain most of the characteristics mentioned above. However, new materials lead to improvements when renovating and reconstructing. Visionary Thomas Rau will discuss those topics in depth during his talk. Followed by Amanda Sturgeon, who was elected to be one of the most important women from the field of sustainability in 2015.
The last day of the congress will be dedicated to ground-breaking architecture. President of the energy agency ENEA, Federico Testa, will be present along with Gideon Maasland who will initiate the convention. He is one of the main contributors of an innovative Project: Amsterdam Valley, in the heart of the Dutch city.
Next, Anton Falkeis will report on the various aspects of sustainability and bionic approaches. Christine Lemaitre (DGNB) and Helmut Stifter, both multiple KlimaHaus Award winners, close the circle of international and local best pactice-examples, before concluding the convention with a panel discussion.
