Interpoma 2012, the eigth edition of the biennial international event dedicated to the apple, will once again play host to “The Apple in the World”, the most influential conference in the sector organised by internationally renowned pomologist Kurt Werth in partnership with South Tyrolean fruit growers’ organisations. Over the course of the three-day gathering, prominent international experts and industry representatives will meet to consider the future direction of the global apple industry.
The main subject of discussion during the first session, on Thursday November 15th, are worldwide tendencies in the apple production and marketing as also the economical determination of the appropriate location of production and
organisation of marketing of the European apple growing areas.
The soil fatigue and problems in seed reproduction of the apple sector are instead the main topics of the second day on Friday 16 November. The floor is opened to discussion between exponents in the domains of production and distribution, academics and representatives of sectoral organisations on the hottest issues linked the topic and a rpund table discussion will follow.
The wrap-up session looks at the news and innovations in research and breeding. During the session, representatives of the main research institutes present their projects and findings of analyses into health, varietal research, and fire bright in regard to the apple sector.
