Bolzano, January 2010 – From March 4 to 6, 2010, “Alpitec China”, the International Tradeshow for Mountain and Winter Technologies“ will be held for the second time in Beijing together with “ispo china”. The year 2009 was marked by a global economic crisis, although China intervened on a massive scale in order to alleviate its consequences. The economic program was expanded, and the Chinese economy received a boost through initiatives by regional governments. This has also moved the most renowned global players in the sector to participate in the double tradeshow. In Hall 2 of the CIEC (Chinese International Exhibition Center), around forty exhibitors will present themselves at “Alpitec China” from Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, New Zealand, and the USA, with nearly a third of them from China. Beijing political scientist Pang Zhongying writes that the crisis “is becoming the starting point for the renewal of our relationships.” It comes at a time in which the cards are being dealt anew throughout the world. Companies in the sector from China and at the international level will be making use of the platform of “ispo china/Alpitec China” to present everything from A to Z having to do with winter sports. The combination tradeshow “ispo china/Alpitec China” is the only Chinese B2B (business to business) tradeshow in the area of winter sports and mountain technologies to offer drivers of business within the sector not only a product show, but also a comprehensive range of information. This year, the “Asia Pacific Snow Conference” will run with the title “Snow Know-how – The Potential of the Chinese Winter Sports Sector”. The conference will last for two days and is being organized in collaboration with “ispo china”. On March 4, the motto will be “Fun and Popular Sports”, while on March 5, the second day of the conference, the main focus will be on business aspects concerning the construction and management of tourist resorts and ski areas. Work will be off to a quick start on March 4 with China’s most successful speed skater and winner of several Olympic medals, Ye Qiaobo, who, as the proprietor of three indoor skiing facilities, will speak about indoor skiing in China. In addition, there will be reports on attractions and events in ski areas, and the most favorite Chinese ski area will be chosen. On March 5, the discussion will center upon the construction of tourist resorts, the design and development of ski areas for investors, day tourism, and the quantum leap in quality of Chinese ski areas.
